Senator Clinton Welcomes Final Congressional Approval of $500,000 for Town of North Hempstead's 311 Communications Management System

Funding included in FY05 Omnibus Appropriations bill

Washington, DC-Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton today welcomed the approval by Congress of $500,000 for the Town of North Hempstead's 311 Communications Management System. The funds were included in the Departments of Commerce, Justice and State, the Judiciary, and Related Agencies Appropriations section of the Fiscal Year 2005 Omnibus Appropriations bill which passed Congress last weekend. It is expected that the bill will be sent to the President in the coming weeks for his signature.

"I was very pleased that $500,000 had been appropriated for the Town of North Hempstead's 311 Communication System," Senator Clinton said. "This system will help to ease some of the congestion on the emergency network, and I am glad that we were able to get North Hempstead the federal funding it needed. I will do everything I can to protect these funds through the appropriations process to ensure that the funding reaches the residents of North Hempstead."
