Governor Chris Christie Orders Flags Lowered to Half-Staff in Honor of Fallen New Jersey State Trooper Eli McCarson

Ordering all State buildings to fly flags at half-staff on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in recognition and mourning of a brave and loyal hero, New Jersey State Trooper Eli McCarson. Trooper McCarson was born in Washington Township, New Jersey, and lived in Blackwood, New Jersey. Trooper McCarson joined the New Jersey State Police as a graduate of the 155th Class of the New Jersey State Police Academy on February 20, 2015, and was a initially assigned to Port Norris Station and then to Woodstown Station.

"Trooper McCarson was a loving and devoted husband, son, and brother, whose memory will live in the hearts of his family, friends, and fellow members of the New Jersey State Police. Trooper McCarson served his State with courage, professionalism, and commitment to the finest ideals and traditions of the New Jersey State Police. It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of Trooper McCarson, and we extend our sincere sympathy to his family, friends, and fellow members of the New Jersey State Police," said Governor Christie.
