  • Rated 20% by Alliance for Retired Americans. (justfacts.votesmart.org)

  • "Law enforcement officers risk their lives every day to help keep our communities safe and secure. It is alarming to see them increasingly targeted with violence as they perform their duties, adding to the dangers they must account for and reminding us of the serious threats they face. I am proud to join Senator Tillis and my colleagues to send a clear message that we stand with our police and will hold those who perpetrate attacks against them accountable," (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "With the exception of those parroting extreme "abolish the police' talking points, members of both parties, in each chamber, are closer than most realize on these issues. There is a consensus that reforms that promote transparency, accountability and procedures that lead to safer interactions between officers and the community are the key to real reform. The vast majority of officers are good, honest individuals who provide a valuable service. We can help foster better relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve through proper reform. " (justfacts.votesmart.org)

  • "This bill prioritizes our nation's defense and our commitment to servicemembers and their families. Increasing defense spending above the president's request will ensure our military maintains the readiness levels achieved under President Trump, modernize the military to preserve our advantage over our adversaries and provide the resources required to give our servicemembers and their families the quality of life they deserve. I'm also pleased the final version of this billprotects servicemembers' Second Amendment rights and does not force women to sign up for the draft, in addition to investing in Arkansas's strong defense industries," (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • Voted in favor of S 1605 "National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022." (votesmart.org)

  • "Although many Americans and Arkansans are struggling, spending more taxpayer money to expand government programs or continually bailout the private sector is not the right way to revive our economy." (votesmart.org)
  • "That is why I support a pro-growth economic agenda. I will fight to rein in spending; reform our tax code so that it is fair for all; reduce the regulatory burdens imposed by government agencies; increase exports by approving pending free and fair trade agreements and create a new energy policy that allows us to use American resources that make us less dependent on foreign oil. The private sector, not Big Government, creates jobs." (www.boozmanforarkansas.com)
  • Voted against HR 1319 "American Rescue Plan Act of 2021." (votesmart.org)
  • Voted against HR 3684 "Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act." (votesmart.org)
  • "Americans are understandably on edge as more cases of the coronavirus appear in the U.S. and the death toll continues to rise around the globe. My colleagues and I understand this anxiety, and have come together to step up efforts to prevent the spread of the disease, treat those infected and support research to find a vaccine. The emergency funding legislation passed by Congress will confront this challenge head on by providing a surge in funding at every level--local, state and federal--to allow for a government-wide approach. It allocates $7.767 billion--more than triple the administration's original request--to address the coronavirus crisis." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • ""This overdue lifeline will help struggling Americans, keep small businesses from shuttering and help to get our kids safely back in school. It will strengthen our efforts to defeat the virus by dramatically increasing efforts to purchase and distribute lifesaving vaccines," Boozman said. "The coronavirus doesn't care if you are a Republican or a Democrat, so relief for Americans impacted by the COVID-19 public health and economic crisis should not have been subjected to political posturing that delayed crucial assistance until the eleventh hour. It is necessary that we are unified in order to deliver relief in a more timely manner."" (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • Voted in favor of HR 133 "Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021." (votesmart.org)

  • "ICYMI: Yesterday on the Senate floor I laid out how the #GreenNewDeal is a far-left wish list that will raise costs, expand government power and hurt Arkansans. What we need is an all-the-above energy approach that builds on progress we've already made to reduce carbon emissions." (twitter.com)
  • "It was great to see how Clarksville is bringing the internet to citizens & supporting renewable energy. I had an opportunity to meet with students at the new high school before joining members of local civic clubs for lunch. #Arkansas" (twitter.com)
  • "Last week in Blytheville I was proud to help flip the switch on an exciting project by Lexicon Inc. & @SealSolar. The new array in NE Arkansas is a great example of an all-the-above energy approach and also supported the local economy by using Arkansas-made steel; a true win-win." (twitter.com)
  • ""Clarifying the EPA's veto authority will rein in the agency's overreach that has created uncertainty for businesses seeking permit approval from the Army Corps of Engineers for dredging and filling. I'm pleased to support this bill to prevent a recurrence of abuse by the EPA," Senator Boozman said." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • ""I appreciate my colleagues taking a stand for rural America by supporting my amendment rejecting this harmful mandate. The push to ban fossil fuels is yet another Biden administration policy directive that punishes rural Americans. The inclusion of my amendment to the Democrats' reckless tax and spending bill will force the administration to pursue an "all-of-the-above' strategy to meet the energy needs of our rural communities now and in the future," Boozman said." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • Rated 94% by Independent Petroleum Association of America. (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "This is a victory for states' rights and a victory for Arkansas. We are pleased that the Department of Energy responded favorably to our request to terminate this agreement. We support policies that put our nation on the path to energy independence, but they should not cost Arkansas landowners a voice in the approval process." (justfacts.votesmart.org)

  • "The ability of decent, hard-working Americans to own a gun—whether for sport or protection—is enshrined in the Constitution and must never be compromised. Only a government that does not trust its citizens would refuse them the right to bear arms. Unfortunately, the knee-jerk reaction to national tragedies has led the Obama Administration to head in that direction. I have pushed back on every attempt to erode the rights of law-abiding citizens and will continue to fight for our Second Amendment rights." (www.boozmanforarkansas.com)

(justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "The Obama administration overreached its authority when it unilaterally expanded the DACA program. I am pleased that President Trump is returning the power to Congress to restore the integrity of our nation's immigration system. As Congress pursues immigration reform, I will push for legislative solutions to fix our broken immigration system, including the lengthy and burdensome legal immigration process." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "The path to immigration reform is to work with Congress, not around us. It starts with allocating the resources, surveillance technology and manpower necessary to ensure that individuals crossing our borders are doing so legally. No immigration reform policies we pass will be effective until we have a secure border and agents that are allowed to do their jobs. Adding more rules to the books without enforcing the ones we have will only make the situation worse." (www.boozmanforarkansas.com)
  • Voted in favor of S Amdt 1948 "Stop Dangerous Sanctuary Cities Act (Toomey Amendment)." (votesmart.org)

This deal with our state's top two trading partners will support economic growth, enhance market access, create jobs and increase economic opportunity. For too long, Arkansans have asked Congress to act on this modernized trade deal. Fortunately, the Senate worked promptly to move this historic agreement through to the finish line. I'm pleased we are able to deliver this economic accomplishment for hardworking Americans," (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "Today the #USMCA is officially in force. That's great news for Arkansas and America. This modernized, 21st-century trade deal helps strengthen our trading partnership with our neighbors and allies, Mexico and Canada. I welcome this day and USMCA's benefits for our economy." (twitter.com)

This candidate has responded to a Political Courage Test in a previous election. As a continued effort to provide the American public with factual information on candidates running for public office, these archived responses are made available here.
The Political Courage Test asks candidates which items they will support if elected. It does not ask them to indicate which items they will oppose. Through extensive research of public polling data, we discovered that voters are more concerned with what candidates would support when elected to office, not what they oppose. If a candidate does not select a response to any part or all of any question, it does not necessarily indicate that the candidate is opposed to that particular item.

My priorities include, first, doing everything possible to defend the nation against terrorist attacks. We also need to make permanent the recent changes reducing the tax burden. These changes will expire in a few years if no action is taken and taxes will increase. Another priority is to improve transportation infrastructure. No additional funding is required because gasoline taxes paid into the trust fund intended for transportation needs have been used instead for general spending.
