Blog: Fly Our Flag Proudly

Statement

On June 14, 1777 the Continental Congress adopted a resolution providing exactly what our new flag would look like. This flag was first carried into battle on September 11, 1777, the Battle of Brandywine. Since then the American flag has been proudly carried into battle by countless brave Americans as they fought for freedom.

Today, I ask that each of you join my family and me and fly your flag proudly. Let our servicemen and women know that we thank them for their service and sacrifice and that we, as free Americans, will always fly our flag in honor of America and the freedom it gives us.
