Whitfield Reaffirms Commitment for a Balanced Federal Budget

U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01) voted today in support of the Conference Report to S.Con.Res.11, which establishes the budget for fiscal year 2016 and sets our budget and policy priorities through 2025. The resolution passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 226 to 197. The Conference Report to S.Con.Res.11 is the product of negotiations between Members from the House and Senate Budget Committees. Whitfield released the following statement upon passage.

"Americans want leadership and practical solutions from Washington to solve our nation's problems. This starts with passing a budget that sets us on a course to cut spending, reduce our national debt, reform our tax code, and bring an end to many of the president's failed policies such as Obamacare and the war on coal. "
