U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01) voted this week in support of H.R. 1560, the Protecting Cyber Networks Act, and H.R. 1731, the National Cybersecurity Protection Advancement Act. Both measures passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 307 to 116 and 355 to 63, respectively. Whitfield released the following statement upon passage.

"In an era of widespread digital activity, more and more individuals and businesses are being targeted by hackers and cyberattacks. These bills passed by the House are an important step to better protect Americans through voluntary information sharing and strong privacy and civil liberty protections for personal information. I am grateful we were able to establish a bipartisan, bicameral effort to tackle this important issue."
