Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement today after the House passed H.R. 2262, the Spurring Private Aerospace Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship (SPACE) Act of 2015, which encourages innovative growth in the science and space industry by establishing helpful guidelines to improve safety and stability for future endeavors.

"Thanks to the brave pioneers of our universe, America has always been a leader when it comes to space exploration. Today I voted for a solution that allows private entities to grow and develop without the imposition of Washington, D.C.'s burdensome regulations. For us to encourage innovation, we must empower the creative minds that will lead us forward and upward. It's support -- not regulation -- that gives America's commercial space industry the room it needs to truly "take off.' I thank Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for his dedication to inventive solutions that keep our country the leader of galactic exploration."
