Long on Budget Agreement: "We are Returning to Fiscal Responsibility'

Statement

U.S. Rep. Billy Long released the following statement following House passage of the House and Senate's budget agreement for Fiscal Year 2016 and setting budget levels through 2025.

"Responsible budgeting means prioritizing spending, and balancing revenue and expenses to live within our means. Washington should not consider itself exempt from that common sense principle. Today, we passed a budget agreed upon with the Senate to balance the budget with a $5 trillion spending cut and without raising taxes, repeal Obamacare, maintain a strong defense and protect Medicare and Social Security. With this budget framework, we are returning to fiscal responsibility."
