Representative Kristi Noem spoke to members of the public, as well as took questions from them about numerous topics variety of issues including immigration, healthcare reform and the Keystone pipeline.

Noem said that she sees the pipeline as being extremely important in growing the economy and believes that it would be a much safer way of transporting oil through the United States.

Also discussed was human trafficking, an issue that Noem has championed since she was elected in 2011.

"My bill specifically is one that would provide help to get more shelters for victims of human trafficking, but also make sure that we're spending dollars in areas that really have an impact, especially federal dollars".

Last week, Noem announced plans for legislation set to reduce the federal mandates on school meal standards.
