Statement

Date: April 22, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04), Chairman of the House Armed Services Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, released the following statement on the first aerial refueling of the X-47B/UCAS program:

"As a long-standing supporter of unmanned carrier aviation, I am thrilled that this path-breaking program has made aviation history once again," Congressman Forbes said. "Today's milestone reminds us of the incredible potential of programs like UCLASS to provide the carrier air wing with a long-range, penetrating strike capability for decades to come. I agree wholeheartedly with former CNO Roughead that future challenges will require an unmanned carrier-launched platform able to operate in the likely denied environments of the future."
