On Tax Day, Senator Blunt Works To Encourage Economic Growth, Restore Accountability For American Taxpayers

Statement

Issues: Taxes

U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today marking Tax Day:

"As we mark Tax Day, hardworking American taxpayers continue to struggle under a complicated and burdensome tax system, resulting in less economic growth, lower wages, and fewer jobs. If we're going to get our economy back on track, the American people need a more efficient, effective, and accountable federal government that will restore certainty in the economy and encourage risk-taking, investment, and economic growth.

"In the first hundred days of the new Congress, the Republican-led Senate is already demonstrating greater fiscal responsibility to promote growth and opportunity for all Americans. We recently passed a budget that will help families and workers by balancing the federal budget within 10 years without raising taxes. I've also reintroduced a number of important bills in the 114th Congress to restore government accountability, and I'll keep working to pass economic solutions and tax policies that create jobs, grow the economy, and get Washington working again for the American people."
