Pelosi Names Conferees to FY 2016 Budget Conference

Press Release

Date: April 14, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today named three House Democratic Members to serve on a conference committee to complete a final FY 2016 budget agreement. She appointed Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Ranking Member on the Budget Committee; Congressman John Yarmuth of Kentucky; and Congresswoman Gwen Moore of Wisconsin. Below is Leader Pelosi's statement:

"Republicans have advanced a "Work Harder For Less' budget that would give massive tax breaks to millionaires, paid for by dealing grievous damage to American seniors, students and hard-working families. They seek to empower the special interests and make it harder to buy a home, harder to send a child to college, and harder to have a secure and enjoyable retirement.

"The American people have had enough of Republicans taking the tools of opportunity away from hard-working Americans to give bigger tax breaks to the super wealthy. With the leadership of our budget conferees, Ranking Member Van Hollen, Congressman Yarmuth and Congresswoman Moore, Democrats will continue to champion a budget of opportunity, prosperity and dignity for every American -- not just the ultra-wealthy and well-connected."
