Lujan: 100 Days into Congress, Republicans Putting Special Interests Ahead of Hard-Working Families

Statement

Date: April 15, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico's Third District released the following statement today marking the 100th day of the Republican-controlled Congress that is putting the needs of special interests ahead of hard-working families.

"From day one, House Republicans have pursued an agenda that looks out for the special interests instead of addressing the pressing needs of hard-working Americans in New Mexico and across the nation. They have governed from one manufactured crisis to the next, brought the Department of Homeland Security to the brink of a shutdown, and voted time and again to strip health care coverage from millions of Americans."

"Democrats instead are focused on growing paychecks for hard-working Americans, rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, and making it easier to send a kid to college. The people of New Mexico deserve better than House Republicans' dismal record over the past 100 days, and Democrats have a plan to put working families first."
