Gillibrand Statement on Federal Increase for New York City Anti-Terror Funds

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand released the following statement on the Department of Homeland Security announcement that it will increase New York City anti-terror funding to $181 million. Gillibrand has also fought to increase the amount of anti-terror funding for non-profit and religious institutions.

"We have been fighting for years for the resources needed to protect the world's number one terrorist target. I want to thank Secretary Johnson for making this sound investment to ensure New York City can maintain an effective anti-terrorism program. Since 2001, New York City has thwarted over a dozen known attacks, making it clear that we must continue to be vigilant in our fight against terrorism, and that we must make sure our law enforcement has the tools needed to keep New Yorkers and the country safe."
