Congressman Joe Kennedy III today announced that he will participate in a bipartisan Congressional delegation to Japan next week. Led by the Congressional Study Group on Japan, Kennedy and nine other Members of Congress will spend a week traveling across the country.

Over the week of February 16, Kennedy and the Congressional delegation will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and other government officials. They will also spend time visiting historical and religious sites and touring a U.S. military installment.

"As one of our strongest international allies in an increasingly critical region, Japan is an indispensable leader in promoting efforts to advance economic growth and supporting democratic values," said Congressman Kennedy. A former member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Congressman Kennedy has been an active voice on foreign policy since being elected to Congress. His previous delegations abroad include Afghanistan, Israel, Asia and Central America.
