Salmon Re-Introduces Measure to Universally Limit Congressional Terms

Press Release

Date: Jan. 12, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

"Since the day I first took office, I have advocated for universal Congressional term limits. Now more than ever, citizens need to see accountability and responsibility from their elected representatives at all levels of government. Sadly, many today don't feel that their elected members of Congress are accountable to their voice, but rather to the voices of special interest groups.

"In order for the idea of a term limit to be effective, the limits must be universal instead of unilateral. That is why I fought for term limits during my first tenure in Congress, and kept true to my own unilateral term limit pledge. It's also why I have reintroduced legislation in the 114th Congress to amend the Constitution and impose term limits on all members. It is time for Congress to do our part to implement universal term limits and give the states the opportunity to exercise the will of the people."
