U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Cory Booker today announced the awarding of a combined $10,865,895 in federal Sandy relief grants through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Public Assistance grant program to fund state and county efforts to buyout flood prone properties in Sayreville and Woodbridge in Middlesex County, and Manville in Somerset County.

"These grant awards will help protect residents and first responders from the hazards associated with repeated flooding, and keep our state on its path to full recovery from Superstorm Sandy," said Sen. Menendez. "Much work is still left to do to rebuild and make our state more resilient two years after the storm."

"More than two years after Sandy, many of our communities are still recovering and working to become more resilient to future storms and this additional funding is important to the overall recovery efforts," said Sen. Booker. "There is still a tremendous amount of work to be done and I will continue to ensure resources are made available."
