Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the following statement on Congressman Paul Ryan's (WI-01) selection as Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee in the 114th Congress:

"I congratulate my friend Paul Ryan on his selection as the new chairman of the Ways & Means Committee. Paul is a talented leader whose ideas for moving our country forward have already sparked a vibrant national debate and proved that the challenges we face are not too big to tackle if we lean into them. The Ways & Means Committee stands at the forefront on issues central to job creation and economic growth, from reforming the broken tax code to strengthening our critical safety-net programs and shielding Americans from the harmful effects of Obamacare. I'm pleased to work with Chairman-select Ryan to advance bold, conservative solutions to get America back on the right track."

A member of the Ways & Means Committee since 2009, Congressman Roskam currently serves on the Health and Trade subcommittees.
