Location: Raleigh, NC

Following a successful "Hire a Veteran Week" in North Carolina last week, Governor Pat McCrory released the following web video urging employers to make veterans part of their workforce.

"We need to honor veterans not just on Veterans Day, but every day of the year," said Governor McCrory. "The best way we can honor those who have defended and protected our freedoms is by connecting them with employment and opportunity. Through initiatives like NCWorks and converting military training into college credit or professional licenses, we have sought to support veterans and get them jobs to make North Carolina not just the most military-friendly state in the country, but the most veteran-friendly state."

More than 60,000 veterans are projected to muster out of their respective military service in North Carolina through 2016. Governor McCrory has launched numerous job, education and quality of life initiatives to transform North Carolina from a duty station to a veteran's new home.
