Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema made the following statement after the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced the implementation of the second phase of its Veterans Choice Cards program:

"Veterans deserve the best possible health care, including mental health services," said Sinema. "This is an important step to improve timely access to care for Arizona veterans, and I encourage veterans to contact our office if they have questions or need assistance."

On November 17, the VA began mailing a temporary benefit, known as the Veterans Choice Cards program, that allows veterans waiting more than 30 days for an appointment at a VA facility to receive care from a community provider.
