Rep. Lois Capps (CA-24) announced that Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, Inc. (CHC) received a grant of $450,076 from the Department of Health and Human Services to expand services at the their Lompoc and Santa Maria clinics.

The Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) grant will allow CHC to add a pediatrician to the staff at the clinic in Lompoc, as well to add a family practice physician in Santa Maria.

"CHC provides the Central Coast community with critical access to affordable care for so many in our community," Capps said. "These grants will help them expand these services--especially for children--to reach more patients who need primary care."

"In response to the increased demand through the ACA, this new grant funding will allow CHC to hire a pediatrician and a family practice doctor," said Ronald Castle, CEO of the Community Health Centers of the Central Coast. "This not only adds capacity for new patients, but improves access for our existing patients. We are so grateful to Rep. Lois Capps, who has long been a champion of community health centers in Congress. Thanks to Congresswoman Capps, the Obama Administration, and HRSA, CHC is once again improving the delivery of health care to residents on the Central Coast."
