Question:
What are your thoughts on the current immigration debacle and please specifically address the folllowing:
-Child immigrants from Honduras/Guatemala/El Salvador and the protesters who want them out of the country immediately -What policy, if any, on immigration you would have -Assuming you are not 100% Native American where your ancestors immigrated from
Please answer those questions in that order, thanks.

Answer:
It's my belief that these immigration issues that we're seeing are the result of the cascading effect of the war on drugs.
The reason parents in these countries are willing to risk their own children to escape to a better life is because their home countries are such a mess.
When it comes to the kids, they need better legal representation than what they're receiving. Most of them are shoved through the legal process in a flash with no idea what's going on.
We can do more as a country to help them out on the legal front, but I think the problem will be ultimately solved with us ending the war on drugs. Ending this wasteful war would remove the power from the cartels that have a stranglehold on these central American nations.
