Issue Position

Investment into public education is key. I believe that no federal funds should be used for voucher programs or charter schools. We need to invest in teachers with ongoing continuous training for both new and current teachers. We need to develop partnerships with mental health facilities to provide immediate care for children that are in need of behavioral, emotional, or mental care. I am committed to assist in creating national standard for education, for all grades, and then providing the resources for local schools to create and tailor their curriculum to fit their individual schools and school districts. In education, there needs to be accountability with our tax dollars. Part of holding accountability is providing funding for mandates while also providing ongoing training. One training aspect is for partner schools which can act in a mentor capacity if curriculum issues emerge.
