Governor Richardson Appoints John Loehr to NMHU Board of Regents

Governor Bill Richardson today appointed John Loehr to the New Mexico Highlands University Board of Regents. Loehr will serve his term on the Board until December 2006.

"John Loehr is a tough minded, insightful and highly effective educator," said Governor Richardson. "He knows both the educational and financial worlds and will be a tremendous asset to Highlands University."

Loehr, an alumnus of Highlands University, was first appointed as a Regent in 1998 by Governor Gary Johnson and also served on the Commission on Higher Education under the Richardson administration.

John Loehr is the founding Superintendent of Education of the Alamo Navajo Reservation School. He has worked in the West Las Vegas Public Schools, Westinghouse Learning Corporation and as a business management consultant. He is an
avid bicyclist and a venture capital investor.
