We must fight for equality. Equality means marriage law without bias, workplaces without discrimination, and a society without bigotry.

We must stand with Alaskans young and old across the state, and say this: LGBT rights are human rights. Discrimination based on sexual orientation has no place in our society or our law. We need a leader in the U.S. House who recognizes that, and is willing to fight for non-discrimination legislation that makes sexual orientation a protected class.

Alaska was the first state to ban gay marriage in our constitution. Let us transcend that ugly past, remove that language from our state constitution, and stand up for full equality for our LGBT community.
