Public Safety: Keeping our communities safe by maintaining strong programs and funding for the Criminal Justice System will be a huge priority for Carla. As our former Police Chief, Carla Piluso helped keep our schools safe through funding School Safety Officers and she also helped secure $1.5 million to fund the East Metro Gang Enforcement Team to combat gang crime in our community.

Education: Kids with greater educational opportunities can avoid making the tragic choices that can harm a young person's life, and an educated workforce is an essential component of attracting businesses to any area. For the past 30 years, Carla Piluso has advocated for after school programs so our kids have a safe and healthy place to be in the afternoon hours. And her support for Head Start has helped Gresham's children enter school ready to learn. Carla will continue to fight for a first class education for all our students by advocating for a well-funded and safe environment for learning.

Family Success: Oregon should examine policies which would draw jobs to our state. In doing so, we should not abandon other goals, including promoting fair working conditions and living wage jobs for Oregonians. Carla will continue to advocate for working class families by supporting programs & policies designed to prevent and reduce poverty.
