Statement

Date: July 24, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

A united Texas GOP delegation delivered a letter today to the President of the United States detailing actions he can immediately take in order to stem the flow of unaccompanied children crossing the border illegally.

"The President created the crisis at the border and he can stop it now," said Representative Kevin Brady, who represents Conroe, a city in which one of the facilities housing these unaccompanied minors is located. "First by announcing from the Oval Office that these children will be immediately returned to their families in their home country. Secondly by ending the "catch and release' program for illegal immigrants of all ages. Thirdly by working with Texas Republicans to secure the border and change the human trafficking law being wrongly manipulated in this crisis."
