Issue Position

My family has, for generations, provided Montanans with good paying jobs. I understand the value of economic development, both at a state and local level. Unfortunately, in today's real world, individuals with innovative ideas struggle with the ability to secure funding or financing to bring their ideas to fruition. Banks will no longer finance ideas, they need hard collateral before they will borrow to those with entrepreneurial visions. I have and will continue to support state and local efforts to provide moneys for planning, growth, and training for businesses that will hire Montanans, provide good wages and benefits, and will ultimately keep our children home. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, they provide the tax base for our schools and ultimately our government. I will continue to support their efforts and innovative spirit.
