Issue Position: Creating Jobs and Improving the Economy

Issue Position

Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi knows that the best way to grow the economy is by creating jobs and identifying sensible solutions to issues that plague the business climate in California. That is why Al supported the Governor's Economic Development Initiative, which went into effect this year, to help make California's business climate more competitive to new businesses. He is also in constant communication with the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development to offer suggestions and to stay up-to-date on job opportunities in the state.

Al created the Small Business Advisory Council (SBAC) to discuss issues that small business owners throughout the local chambers have, and to identify legislative solutions to remediate their problems. Attracting and retaining good jobs, especially in aerospace, trade, and green technology have been some of Al's top priorities and as the Assemblymember for the South Bay and Chair of the Select Committee on Aerospace, he has always been at the forefront in the fight to bring more aerospace jobs back home.

Al Muratsuchi continues to fight for additional dollars for the improvement and maintenance of our roads, bridges, and rail infrastructure serving the major South Bay job engines, including the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Los Angeles Airport, and Los Angeles Air Force Base. In the State Assembly, he will continue to work hard to reform the tax code, crack down on frivolous lawsuits and make small business development top priorities to help get our economy and public infrastructure back on track.
