"We can create better economic opportunity by investing in worker training and keeping higher education affordable so that our workforce remains highly skilled and competitive."

Minnesota used to be a leader in job growth, but recent numbers have been discouraging.
I support efforts to prevent outsourcing of jobs overseas and to create good jobs throughout all of Minnesota. We can create better economic opportunity by investing in worker training and keeping higher education affordable so that our workforce remains highly skilled and competitive.
During my time in the Legislature I have been pleased to help secure $30 million to jumpstart the research partnership between the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic. In addition, I helped pass a bonding bill with $21.7 million to build needed facilities for the Partnership in Rochester.
Rochester is poised to become a leader in biosciences and medical technology, but only if our state legislature continues investing in this area. The biosciences represent an extraordinary opportunity for new businesses and new jobs in Rochester and throughout Minnesota.
