Issue Position: Property Taxes

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014

Over the last decade, property taxes have doubled, with much of that increase falling disproportionately falling on Greater Minnesota. Instead of the status quo, we made direct property tax relief a priority, putting $178 million into the Homestead Credit Refund, Renter's Credit, and refunds for homesteaded farms. Thanks to the increase in direct relief, property taxes are finally going down statewide for the first time in years.
We know there is more work to be done to lower property taxes for middle-class families, renters, and our seniors. I'll continue working to make progress on property taxes.
