Governor Calls On Insurance Companies To Step Up To The Plate and Deliver Lower Rates As Soon As Possible

Following the passage of major civil justice reforms during the legislative session, Gov. Joe Manchin today called upon insurance companies - specifically State Farm, All State, Nationwide, Erie and Westfield - to honor their word and quickly deliver lower insurance rates to the people of West Virginia.

"I made it clear that if we were to work with the legislature to enact these reforms, money must be put back into people's pockets in the form of lower premiums. That is exactly what I expect to happen," the governor said.

"While the insurance industry has 90 days to make adjustments (amounting to a savings of up to $100 per vehicle) once the legislative changes go into effect July 1, I urge these companies to act sooner rather than later to show West Virginians they are eager to honor their commitment."
