Issue Position

A promise made is a promise kept, and I believe that Social Security must be preserved and protected for current and future generations. We have a moral obligation to defend Social Security from the growing risk of insolvency. The toxic combination of a terrible recession with out of control government spending has resulted in the greatest threat to Social Security solvency America has ever seen.

I oppose the government's constant raiding of the Social Security trust fund. I believe that we must look at bipartisan reform to keep Social Security solvent and protected for current seniors and for future retirees. As part of that reform, I will oppose any changes to benefits for those 55 years of age and older.
