Rokita Commends SCOTUS NLRB Ruling, Continues Oversight Efforts

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita, a Subcommittee Chairman on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and an active participant in the debate over the President's National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) appointments, commented on the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to strike down President Obama's unconstitutional appointments to the NLRB. The decision today affirms the argument Rokita has been making in legislative and committee action, letters to the Obama Administration, and in floor remarks -- the President acted in an unconstitutional manner to further an ideological agenda. "This ruling removes the cloud of uncertainty that President Obama's unconstitutional actions created for workers and their employers. His actions in this, and other matters, continually run counter to the design and intent of our Founding Fathers," said Rokita.

"There remains much work to be done by the NLRB in hearing the many cases that must now be reconsidered. The board must view these cases fairly and in a timely manner to minimize the economic damage the President's reckless appointments have caused. Along with my committee colleagues, I will continue oversight of the Executive Branch's actions."
