Auto Insurance
John Reilly will seek to lower auto insurance rates which are the highest in the country. Some of the mandatory insurance provisions add a tremendous cost to each policy and John will work to change these provisions so that they are voluntary thereby providing greater individual options for Michigan vehicle owners.

Regulations
Michigan is one of the most highly regulated states in the nation and John Reilly will pursue free market policies along with elimination of unnecessary regulations and fees which significantly hamper entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Taxes
John Reilly will work to lower taxes and fees for all residents, such as the personal income rate and professional and licensing fees.

Reduce the Size of Government
John Reilly with seek to cut spending and reduce the state budget which has grown by more than 30% since 2000 to over $50 billion.

Roads
John Reilly will seek a workable and long term plan to repair and maintain the roads, using existing revenue streams and will oppose an increase in taxes. As an example, the elimination of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and film industry subsidies (corporate welfare) would allow approximately $250 million annually to be shifted to priorities such as the roads.
