I grew up in Eastern Washington and my wife and I love raising our three kids here. Some of my fondest childhood memories involve running in Bloomsday, sledding at Manito Park, watching the Air Show at Fairchild and celebrating birthdays at the Shadle Chuck-E-Cheese.

As your Senator, I'm committed to building a thriving, healthy and safe community for my family and for yours.

In order to create a strong economy for our community, I've helped create a new Medical School in Spokane and have fought hard for the completion of the long-awaited North South Freeway.

In order to create great schools for our community I've helped prioritize education spending, stop tuition increases, and increase funding for EWU and our Community Colleges.

In order to keep our community healthy I've sponsored measures to help prevent spills and derailments of trains carrying oil and coal through our region and supported measures to clean up the Spokane River.

In order to keep our community safe I've helped pass laws to toughen DUI sentencing and crack down on sex traffickers.

In order to build the cultural richness of our community I've helped secure funding for our Museum of Arts and Culture, Mt. Spokane, Mobius Children's Science museum and local parks and trails.

The Inland Northwest is a great place to live and raise a family. It's an honor to continue to work to keep it that way!
