When he returns to Congress, former Congressman Bob Barr, who for the past ten years has been a small businessman, will join with 63 of his fellow conservatives, including a majority of the Georgia Republican House Delegation, in co-sponsoring H.R. 25 -- The Fair Tax Act authored by Congressman Rob Woodall (R-GA).

During his prior service in Congress, Bob Barr was one of the original co-sponsors of the original Fair Tax legislation. Bob Barr has been a strong leader for the Fair Tax since the beginning.

The Fair Tax isn't simply about taxes; it is about freedom, jobs, smaller government and the economy. It is about returning power to the people and finally finding a way to ensure America's economic growth. It is about completely abolishing the IRS and stripping the Federal government of the opportunity to dig deeper and deeper in the American people's personal pocketbooks.

The Fair Tax is a simple plan that people can understand, get excited about, and support 100% because it is a plan of hope. It is a plan to remove the heavy hand of government from your personal pocketbook and put you in charge of your finances and your life. Our nation was founded on the fundamental concept of individual freedom. Our current income tax system taxes hard work--stripping Americans of their incentive to work hard and pursue the American dream.

The Fair Tax is a plan for every American, no matter what his or her income might be. Specifically, the Fair Tax would repeal all Federal corporate and individual income taxes, payroll taxes, self-employment taxes, capital gains taxes, the death tax, and gift taxes -- and replace them with a revenue-neutral personal consumption tax.

Bob Barr has the experience we need to advance the Fair Tax in Congress.
