The research is clear: having an effective teacher in the classroom is the single most important element in raising achievement. Alisha believes every child in Georgia deserves an excellent teacher. Morgan will build on her legislative history and execute a comprehensive plan that includes:

Ensuring our teacher preparation programs are recruiting high-quality candidates and offering relevant, up-to-date training to adequately prepare educators;
Implementing a strong teacher evaluation system that gives educators clear and immediate feedback to improve their teaching;
Support for teachers to ensure they have the tools they need to be successful;
A Deparment-wide committment to honoring and celebrating excellent teaching; and
Community engagement efforts that help to build public support for the profession.
