Mike Bost, Republican candidate in Illinois' 12th Congressional District, released the following statement in response to the announcement of the resignation of VA Secretary Eric Shinseki.
"Secretary Shinseki served his country honorably as a Vietnam veteran, a General and later as Army Chief of Staff but as time went by it was abundantly clear that new leadership was needed at the VA," said Bost. "Veterans deserve the care they were promised and the next Secretary must have the confidence of them. Congress should now do its part to ensure the Department of Veteran Affairs has the resources they need in getting the job done."
