Issue Position

A product of area schools, Erek knows that the key to our future is increased funding for public schools, resources for educators, and opportunities for our youth to excel. Specifically, he will work to -

Support universal pre-kindergarten education by creating better, more equipped students and an earlier age;
Support better transparency in school funding so that parents understand how funds are spent -- creating more accountability to parents;
Support funding for school construction to create educational facilities designed to encourage learning and teaching;
Support and incentivize increased programmatic options for students (inside and outside the regular curriculum) and individual learning plans by creating opportunities to develop language skills, STEM concentrations, vocational skills, and other interests;
Support and incentivize educator and administrator professional development by creating quality teachers and keeping them in our county's school system; and
Support for practical education and skills training such as financial planning and credit counseling to create students ready to transition into independent citizenship.
