Issue Position

No Alaskan should be without affordable, accessible health care. I believe it is wrong to deny Medicaid coverage to thousands of Alaskans who are currently unprotected. I believe it is wrong to let the federal government manage Alaska's health care exchange. We need to take the lead in managing Alaska solutions for health care. Those solutions will recognize the challenges that small businesses face with availability and affordability of coverage and the opportunities for individuals who, because of their occupations (e.g. commercial fishermen), pre-existing conditions, or exhaustion of lifetime limits, are without coverage. We can do better.
