Statement by Congressman Dan Kildee Recognizing Memorial Day

Statement

Date: May 23, 2014

Congressman Dan Kildee issued the following statement today to mark Memorial Day, which falls on May 26th:

"On Memorial Day, we come together to remember the men and women in uniform who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our nation and uphold our democratic values. We remember not only their heroic sacrifices, but also the sacrifices of the families they left behind. The courage of those who have selflessly died fighting for freedom should never be forgotten. We owe an incredible debt of gratitude to those who have fought and died for our country, today and every day.

"To truly honor their service, we must also vow to leave no solider behind as tens of thousands of veterans return home. We have a sacred obligation to ensure that every veteran who fought for their country has the resources and care they have earned and deserve."
