Kingston Calls Obama/Shinseki on VA "Unconscionable"

Press Release

Date: May 28, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

A year ago today Congressman Jack Kingston (R-GA), along with dozens of Representatives, wrote to President Obama calling for action in addressing the VA backlog. The reply, a month later, offered lip-service to the Administration's stated goal of serving our veterans better, but those words ring hollow a year later in light of recent revelations.

On the occasion of this "anniversary', Congressman Kingston had this to say, "It is unconscionable that Secretary Shinseki has not addressed the blatant corruption in the VA and that President Obama believes an internal investigation will fix everything -- it is time for some accountability from this White House so our veterans can get the care they deserve."

As a consistent and tireless advocate for veterans throughout his time in Congress, Congressman Jack Kingston knows our soldiers have made sacrifices for this country and should not be sacrificed for political expediency.

Congressman Kingston called for Secretary Shinseki's resignation on May 12, 2014 because he has proven incapable of serving our veterans.
