Boustany Applauds Passage of WRRDA

Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana), issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Water Resources Development Act (WRRDA) of 2014:

"This WRRDA legislation is critical to America's waterways. However, in South Louisiana, its impact will directly touch the lives of residents. At home, projects deepening channels along rivers and basins will continue to create jobs and protect homes from flooding. Necessary undertakings, like the AGMAC project affecting the Port of Iberia, will lead to more growth and expansion in communities across South Louisiana. Furthermore, I was able to secure more funding from the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund for maintenance of our nation's ports and harbors. This bipartisan legislation serves as a key reminder our waterways remain key arteries of commerce that must not be neglected."
