Issues: Government Budget and Spending
We have all been told that we got into the current financial crisis by spending money we didn't have. The solution from Washington? Spend more money that we don't have. Any place other than Washington, that would sound crazy because it is.
Consider what Joe Biden said in July 2009:
"We're going to go bankrupt as a nation," Biden said.
"Now, people when I say that look at me and say, "What are you talking about, Joe? You're telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?'" Biden said. "The answer is yes, that's what I'm telling you."
The deficit spending must end. I have been working hard to find solutions to our budget problems while serving on the House Budget Committee.
