Johnson Comments on New Delay in Obamacare

Statement

Date: March 5, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Senator Johnson made the following remarks this afternoon in response to yet another delay in President Obama's signature legislation.

"Today's announcement of another delay of Obamacare's coverage requirements is not surprising. Rather than admit that his health law has been a failure that continues to harm millions through lost coverage and higher premiums, President Obama has chosen to continue his strategy of delay. When in doubt, delay. When unpopular, delay. He is delaying this next bitter pill until after the midterm elections, a purely political act.

"This action, like so many other actions of this president, has been done without proper legal authority. Every American should take stock of what the president is doing to our constitution for political expediency. More is at stake than an election."
