House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) today received the 2014 Champion of Change Award presented by Seventh District Virginians, Traci and Steve LaGanke of Glen Allen, along with their sons, Jacob and Nicholas, who came to Washington as a part of the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) Buddy Walk on Washington:

"I am honored to receive the Champion of Change Award from the National Down Syndrome Society. It is really moms and dads like Traci and Steve LaGanke and their incredible sons who have been such an inspiration to me as we continue the fight for increased medical research funding. This year, the House will continue its commitment to prioritizing medical research in order to support innovation for finding cures and better treatments. I congratulate the National Down Syndrome Society and patient advocacy groups throughout the country for the important work they do to promote awareness, and I thank the many moms, dads, family members and friends who were here today to highlight our common cause and the need for increased support for medical research and development."
