U.S. Senator Mark Pryor released the following statement after the FCC approved a notice of proposed rule making regarding wireless 9-1-1 calls.
I'm pleased to see the Commission heed my call and take this positive step forward for wireless 9-1-1 callers. There have been too many stories of unnecessary suffering because first responders and law enforcement were unable to access timely and accurate location data. All 9-1-1 callers, whether they are indoors or outdoors, in rural or urban areas, or calling from a landline or wireless phone, should receive the help they need in times of emergency.
