U.S. Congressman Blake Farenthold Votes to Eliminate Cuts to Military Retirees

Press Release

Date: Feb. 11, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27) issued the following statement today after the House voted 326 -- 90 to eliminate cuts to military retirees and keep America's promises to veterans. The legislation restores cost of living adjustment (COLA) increases to all veterans and service men and women who joined the military before January 1, 2014. Congressman Farenthold currently serves as a cosponsor of four pieces of legislation to eliminate cuts to all current and future military retirees.

"Today, the House acted to ensure we keep our promises to those who have served this nation. Taking from our veterans -- in any capacity -- is wrong. Today's legislation ensures retirees get what was promised."
