Rep. Capito Statement on Omnibus

Press Release

Date: Jan. 15, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) issued the following statement after voting yes on the fiscal year 2014 omnibus funding bill, which passed the House of Representatives 359-67. The bill now goes to the Senate for consideration.

"By setting priorities, such as ensuring that more children have access to early education through Head Start, fully funding the federal highway bill, and spurring the next generation of energy research, this bill demonstrates that it is possible to reduce spending while supporting programs that are important to West Virginians. This marks the fourth year in a row that Congress has cut spending in its annual appropriations bills, and I am proud to support fiscally responsible legislation that keeps our government open."
